A. Pengertian
- Secara Bahasa : Iffah berarti bentuk menjauhkan diri dari hal yg tidak baik dan juga berarti menjaga kesucian tubuh.
- Secara Istilah : Iffah adl memelihara kehormatan diri dari segala hal yang merendahkan, merusak serta menjatuhkannya.
B. Bentuk-Bentuk Iffah
* Menjaga kehormatan diri dalam masalah seksual; menjaga pergaulan dan pakaiannya.
( Qs.An-Nuur:30-31 dan Qs.Al-Ahzab:59)
“ Katakanlah kpd laki-laki yg beriman, agar mereka menjaga pandangannya, dan memelihara kemaluannya; yg demikian itu lbh suci bagi mereka. Sungguh, Allah mengetahui apa yg mereka perbuat. Dan katakanlah kpd perempuan yg beriman, agar mereka menjaga pandangannya, dan memelihara kemaluannya, dan jgnlah menampakkan perhiasannya (aurat), kecuali yg biasa terlihat…..”( Qs: An-Nuur(25):30-31)
* Menjaga kehormatan diri dlm hubungannya dgn masalah harta dan meminta-minta.
* Menjaga kehormatan diri dlm hubungannya dgn kepercayaan orang lain pd dirinya (Qs.An-Nisaa:6), diantaranya:
I. Jujur bila berkata-kata
II. Menepati bila berjanji
III. Menundukan pandangannya
IV. Menunaikan amanah bila diberi amanah. Firman Allah Ta’ala : “Dan orang2 yg tdk m’berikan kesaksian palsu, dan apabila mereka bertemu dgn (orang2) yg mengerjakan perbuatan2 yg tdk berfaedah, mereka berlalu dgn menjaga kehormatan dirinya.”
( Qs. Al-Furqan:72)
V. Menjaga Kemaluanmu. Allah berfirman: “ Dan jgnlah kamu mendekati zina, itu sungguh suatu perbuatan keji dan suatu jalan yg buruk.” (Qs. Al-Israa:32)
VI. Menahan tangan sendiri, sehingga tdk menyakiti orang lain.

“ Dan Bertakwalah kpd Allah Yang Hidup, Yang tidak mati, dan bertasbihlah dgn memuji-Nya. Dan cukuplah Dia mengetahui dosa2 hamba-Nya.” ( Qs.Al-Furqan(25):58)
